Mindvalley Review 2026: Is the Membership Worth $499?

Last updated: 22 October 2026. Written by Josh Hutcheson, OnlineCourseing editor. Prices, guarantee terms and program pages re-read on mindvalley.com on 22 October 2026. See our review methodology.

Quick verdict

Our rating: 4.3 / 5. Mindvalley is a well-run personal-growth platform. Its 20-minute daily lessons and named teachers make it easier to finish a program than a shelf of self-help books. The Membership is good value if you will take two or three programs a year. It is poor value if you want one course, career credentials, or strictly evidence-based content.

Price: $499 a year (about $41.50 a month, billed annually), or monthly billing. Black Friday 2026: on 5 November Mindvalley was selling the yearly Membership for $199 on its Black Friday page.

Risk: a 15-day money-back guarantee on purchases made directly on mindvalley.com. There is no free trial.

Skip if: you want technical or academic courses, or a single program; WILDFIT and some others are sold separately from the Membership.

Mindvalley is an online learning company built around personal development: meditation, mindset, health, relationships, parenting and entrepreneurship. Its programs, which it calls Quests, are paced into short daily lessons with a community alongside, rather than sold as long video courses you watch once.

This review covers what you get for the money, how the Membership compares with buying programs separately, what members praise and complain about, how to cancel and get a refund, and who should not buy it.

What is Mindvalley?

Mindvalley sells personal-growth education by subscription. Its own figures are “20 mil students worldwide” and “200+ authors, speakers and activists.” These are company claims, not audited numbers. The core product is the Mindvalley Membership, which opens more than 100 programs grouped into six pathways.

Around the Membership sit products sold separately, and this is where buyers get confused. The site’s menu separates Membership from Academy, Coach Training and Events, and some programs, WILDFIT among them, are sold on their own at full price. In October 2026 WILDFIT was listed at $899 as a 90-day live cohort. Read our WILDFIT review before assuming a program you saw advertised is part of the Membership.

What a Quest is

A Quest is a structured program led by one teacher. Each day opens a short lesson, usually a video of about 20 minutes, plus an exercise or reflection. You move through it over weeks rather than in one sitting. Superbrain runs 30 days, for example, and Marisa Peer’s hypnotherapy program 35 days.

What else the Membership includes

  • Community: a private social network where members discuss lessons, plus program-specific groups.
  • A guided curriculum: Mindvalley now uses an AI guide, which it calls EVE, to suggest a learning path from your goals, e.g. a 21-day plan for sleep and stress.
  • A starting quiz: the sign-up flow asks about your goals and recommends a first program.
  • Meditations and live sessions inside the app, which vary over the year.

Mindvalley’s six pathways and what is in them

Mindvalley organizes the Membership into six pathways. Its Membership page lists the topics below; the grouping into pathways is ours, to show what each one contains:

Pathway Topics Mindvalley lists A good first program
Mind Brain performance, self-confidence, meditation for productivity, becoming indistractible, stress control Superbrain (Jim Kwik)
Body Biohacking, body transformation, extreme resilience Check whether it is in the Membership; WILDFIT is not
Relationships Love relationships, conscious parenting Conscious Parenting (Dr. Shefali Tsabary)
Business Millennial and disruptive entrepreneurship, growing businesses, emotional money intelligence Pick by stage: starting out vs scaling
Influence Public speaking, networking and leadership Pair with our public speaking courses guide
Spirit Spiritual evolution, altered states, energy medicine, manifestation, evolution of consciousness The 6 Phase Meditation (Vishen Lakhiani)

The split matters for value. Most buyers come for one pathway, often Mind or Spirit, and never open the others. If two or more pathways interest you, the Membership pays for itself faster.

How to sign up and choose your first program

  1. Take the quiz. Mindvalley asks about your goals and builds a growth plan that shows which areas to work on first.
  2. Pick a plan. Yearly ($499, or $199 on the Black Friday page while it lasts) or monthly. Buy on the website rather than in the app if you want the 15-day money-back guarantee.
  3. Start one program, not three. Mindvalley’s own onboarding points you to a first 20-minute lesson that matches your quiz result. Finishing one Quest tells you more than sampling five.
  4. Join the program community. Most of the accountability lives there.
  5. Put the 15-day date in your calendar. If the first two weeks are not working, that is the moment to ask for a refund at mindvalley.com/refund.

Mindvalley events, Academy and coach training

Mindvalley sells more than the Membership, and it is worth knowing where the line sits before you buy:

  • Events. Mindvalley runs free virtual summits, e.g. an AI for Founders Summit listed for 30 October to 1 November 2026, and paid in-person experiences such as Mindvalley U, listed for Portugal in 2027. Mindvalley says 20,000+ people have attended its events.
  • Mindvalley Academy. A premium tier Mindvalley calls “the Alternative University,” with live mentorship and small cohorts. It is sold through a booked sales call, not the Membership checkout.
  • Coach Training. Certification-style programs for people who want to coach others. These are separate purchases.
  • Stand-alone programs. WILDFIT is the best-known example, sold as a 90-day live cohort.

None of these are needed to get value from the Membership. If a free event or masterclass leads into a sales pitch, that is the funnel working as designed. Decide on the Membership on its own merits.

What makes Mindvalley different

The Quest format actually gets finished

Most course libraries assume you will binge. Mindvalley paces you: one short lesson a day, an action to try, and a cohort working through the same days. That structure is the product. If you have bought courses and never finished them, the daily pacing is the strongest reason to choose Mindvalley over a video library. Mindvalley also advertises that its students are “5x more likely to complete” its courses; it does not publish the study behind that figure, so treat it as marketing.

Genuinely credible instructors

Mindvalley recruits well-known names in self-development rather than anonymous course creators:

Being famous is not the same as being evidence-based. Some programs are practical and well grounded (memory techniques, parenting, productivity). Others lean on manifestation, energy medicine or hypnotherapy claims that have little research support. Read each program page before you treat it as therapy or medical advice.

Community and accountability

Each program has a community where members post progress and questions, and some run live calls. In a category where motivation fades after a week, that layer is a real advantage over a book or a YouTube channel.

Who teaches on Mindvalley?

Mindvalley says it works with more than 200 authors, speakers and activists. A few names carry most of its marketing, so it helps to know who they are before you buy:

  • Vishen Lakhiani co-founded Mindvalley and teaches several of its programs, including The 6 Phase Meditation. He is also the face of most of its advertising.
  • Jim Kwik is a brain-training coach and author best known for memory and speed-reading techniques.
  • Marisa Peer is a British hypnotherapist who created Rapid Transformational Therapy, the method behind her Mindvalley program.
  • Dr. Shefali Tsabary is a clinical psychologist and author whose Conscious Parenting work is the basis of her program.
  • Eric Edmeades created WILDFIT. Mindvalley sells that program separately from the Membership.

Check each teacher’s credentials against the claims in their program. A memory coach teaching memory is one thing; health or money claims deserve more scrutiny.

Using Mindvalley day to day

Mindvalley runs on iOS and Android apps and in a web browser; its WILDFIT page also lists Apple TV. A typical day is a short video lesson, an exercise or reflection, and an optional post in the program community. Some programs add live calls on set dates, which matter if you want the cohort experience.

Two practical notes from members. First, buy on the website rather than in the app if you want Mindvalley’s 15-day guarantee, because app purchases follow Apple or Google’s rules. Second, Reddit users report occasional app glitches that lock paid content, so sign in on the web as well before you decide something is missing.

What changed at Mindvalley in 2026

  • An AI guide. Mindvalley now promotes EVE, an AI guide that turns your goals into a suggested path of programs.
  • Earlier Black Friday pricing. A yearly Black Friday rate was live by 22 October 2026 ($299 then, $199 by 5 November), more than a month before Black Friday.
  • Big programs sold on their own. WILDFIT is now marketed as a stand-alone 90-day live cohort ($899) rather than as part of the Membership.
  • Pathway framing. The catalog is presented as six pathways rather than a flat list of categories.

Best Mindvalley quests to start with

If you are new, start with one program that has a concrete, testable outcome. These four are the easiest to judge within the 15-day refund window:

Superbrain — Jim Kwik

Memory, focus and speed-reading techniques over 30 days. It is one of Mindvalley’s best-known programs and gives you something to measure: can you remember names and lists better after week two? Our Jim Kwik Superbrain review goes deeper. Explore Superbrain →

The Silva Ultramind System

A 28-day meditation and visualization program based on the Silva Method. Mindvalley’s page claims 6 million Silva graduates and 50+ years of the method. It is popular, but parts of it (intuition and “manifesting”) are belief-based rather than tested. Explore the Silva Ultramind System →

The 6 Phase Meditation — Vishen Lakhiani

A 15-day program teaching a short daily routine of gratitude, forgiveness and visualization. It is the gentlest way into Mindvalley and a good test of whether the house style suits you. Explore the 6 Phase Meditation →

Rapid Transformational Hypnotherapy for Abundance — Marisa Peer

Marisa Peer’s program runs 35 days with about 12 hours of training and targets limiting beliefs about money, health and relationships. Expect hypnosis recordings and self-work rather than a CBT course. Explore the program →

Mindvalley pricing: is the Membership worth $499?

Mindvalley sells most of its catalog through one Membership. These are the prices on mindvalley.com on 22 October 2026:

Option Price What you get
Membership, yearly $499 a year (about $41.50 a month, billed annually) 100+ programs, community, app, AI guide
Membership, monthly Billed monthly; Mindvalley says yearly saves $689 versus 12 months (about $99 a month) Same access
Black Friday 2026, yearly $199 a year (Black Friday page, 5 Nov 2026) Same access; check the renewal price at checkout
Programs sold separately e.g. WILDFIT 90-Day Challenge, $899 one-time Not part of the Membership

At $499, the Membership costs about what two or three programs would cost if Mindvalley sold them individually. Mindvalley does not offer installments on the yearly plan; it points people who want smaller payments to the monthly plan. VAT may be added depending on your billing address. Our Mindvalley membership cost guide breaks the price down per program and by country.

The per-program math. Mindvalley likes to divide $499 by 100+ programs and quote under $5 each, but nobody finishes 100 programs in a year. A more honest way to judge it: if you complete three programs, the yearly Membership costs about $166 per program at $499, and about $66 per program at the $199 Black Friday rate. Compare that with what a single comparable live course or coaching program costs, and decide whether you will really finish three.

Is it worth it?

Yes if you will work through at least two programs in a year and like guided daily practice. No if you want one specific program; check whether it is in the Membership first, and remember that the 15-day guarantee is your test window. At the $199 Black Friday price, the bar drops to about one program.

Start the Mindvalley Membership

Does Mindvalley have a free trial?

No. Mindvalley does not offer a free trial of the Membership. What it offers instead:

  • A 15-day money-back guarantee on purchases made directly through mindvalley.com. It covers the first payment of either the yearly or the monthly plan. You request it at mindvalley.com/refund.
  • Free one-off masterclasses that preview a program; the WILDFIT sales page, for example, follows on from a free class.
  • A starting quiz that suggests a first program before you pay.

The guarantee is a refund, not a trial: you pay first. Use the 15 days to complete the first two weeks of one program, so you are judging the real thing rather than the trailer.

Mindvalley Black Friday 2026

Mindvalley started its Black Friday pricing early this year. On 5 November 2026 its Black Friday page sold the yearly Membership for $199 instead of $499 (60% off), billed yearly, with the same 15-day money-back guarantee, and gave an end date of 30 November. It showed $299 on 22 October, so the price can move before then. Check the renewal price at checkout.

Our Mindvalley Black Friday and promo code guide tracks the offer and explains why most third-party “codes” do not work.

How to cancel Mindvalley and get a refund

These are the steps Mindvalley publishes on its Membership page:

  1. To stop renewal: sign in on the website, open your account’s Billing section and cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  2. To get your money back: within 15 days of buying directly on mindvalley.com, go to mindvalley.com/refund. A refund removes your access to the Membership and all its programs immediately.
  3. If you bought in the app: Apple or Google’s cancellation and refund rules apply, not Mindvalley’s 15-day guarantee. Cancel through your phone’s subscription settings.

The Membership renews automatically. One 3-star Trustpilot reviewer in October 2026 said they missed the window before a renewal and asked for more notice. Set a reminder for a week before your renewal date if you are unsure about a second year.

How to get your money’s worth from a Mindvalley year

Most disappointed members we read about did not dislike the content. They stopped using it. If you buy, these habits make the difference:

  1. Plan three programs, not one. Write down the three Quests you want to finish in the year before you pay. If you cannot name three, the monthly plan or a single stand-alone program is the better buy.
  2. Do the lesson at a fixed time. The format only works daily. Attach it to something you already do, like morning coffee or a commute.
  3. Finish before you start another. Mindvalley’s recommendations will tempt you to sample. A finished program is worth more than five half-watched ones.
  4. Use the community in the first week. Post once on day one. Members who engage early are the ones who describe the cohort as the reason they finished.
  5. Review at day 13. You still have two days left in the 15-day guarantee. Decide then, not after the window closes.
  6. Set a renewal reminder. Put the renewal date in your calendar a week early, so a second year is a choice rather than a surprise.

Treat free masterclasses and events as optional. They are useful samples, but each one ends in an offer for something else.

Pros and cons

What we like:

  • Short daily lessons and a cohort make programs easier to finish than self-paced video libraries.
  • Recognizable teachers in their niches, with programs designed around them rather than generic courses.
  • One price covers 100+ programs, so trying a second or third program costs nothing extra.
  • A clear 15-day money-back guarantee on direct purchases, with a self-serve refund page.
  • The Black Friday price ($199 in 2026) brings it close to the cost of a single program elsewhere.

What to weigh:

  • Strictly personal development: no technical skills, no academic credit, no career credentials.
  • Content quality and evidence vary by teacher; some programs lean on manifestation or energy work.
  • Some flagship programs (WILDFIT) are sold separately, so the “everything” marketing needs reading closely.
  • Auto-renewal at full price, and app purchases are excluded from the 15-day guarantee.
  • Reddit users report app glitches and first-line support handled by an AI chat.

Who Mindvalley is — and isn’t — for

Buy it if you want guided, habit-building programs in mindset, meditation, productivity, relationships, parenting or wellbeing, and you value structure and community over a large library of unwatched videos.

Look elsewhere if you need career or technical training. A platform like DataCamp or Coursera Plus ($239 a year (normally $399)) is the better fit. The same goes if you only want one program, if you prefer evidence-based therapy delivered by a licensed clinician, or if price is the deciding factor.

Is Mindvalley worth it for you? Four common cases

You want to sleep better and stress less

Mindvalley is a reasonable choice if you want guided routines plus a community. The 6 Phase Meditation and the stress programs are short and practical. If meditation is all you want, a dedicated meditation app costs less. Ongoing anxiety or insomnia is a job for a doctor or licensed therapist, not a course.

You are a parent

Conscious Parenting is one of the more grounded programs on the platform and runs 15 days. If that is the only program you would take, compare the yearly price with buying Dr. Shefali Tsabary’s books first.

You run or want to start a business

The business pathway is about mindset, money habits and leadership more than operations. Pair it with practical training: our business strategy courses guide covers the hard-skills side.

You want to change careers

Mindvalley will not give you a credential employers recognize. Use it alongside a skills platform. Coursera Plus certificates or a bootcamp do that job; Mindvalley can help with the habits and confidence around it.

Is Mindvalley a Scam? The Honest Truth

No. Mindvalley is a long-running company with real, named teachers, published refund terms and more than 10,000 Trustpilot reviews averaging 4.3. The “scam” searches come from three things: an aggressive marketing funnel, big promises in some programs, and charges people did not expect.

Common complaints, and what is behind them:

  • Auto-renewal. The Membership renews automatically at the regular price. Cancel in Billing before the date if you only want one year.
  • Separate purchases. Free masterclasses lead into paid programs, and some of those (WILDFIT, live events, coach training) cost extra on top of the Membership. You never need them to use the Membership.
  • “Woo-woo” content. Some programs are about manifestation, energy medicine or spiritual experience. Plenty are practical, but the catalog is not uniformly evidence-based.
  • Uneven quality. With 100+ programs, depth varies. The headline programs are strong; some others are lighter than their sales pages suggest.
  • Support. Recent Trustpilot reviews praise named support agents. Reddit users describe a frustrating AI-first route when the app misbehaves.

Bottom line: Mindvalley is a real business delivering real content. The fair criticism is about value and fit, not legitimacy. The 15-day guarantee is your protection; use it if the first two weeks do not work for you.

What Mindvalley members say

Trustpilot

Mindvalley’s Trustpilot profile showed 4.3 out of 5 from 10,344 reviews on 22 October 2026, with 630 in the past year. Mindvalley has claimed the profile and pays for a Trustpilot subscription; Trustpilot noted the company had not invited reviewers recently. We read the 45 most recent reviews:

  • Most were 5-star, and most of those praised support: refunds or account fixes handled quickly, often naming the agent.
  • Members of several years described the programs and meditations as worth the money.
  • Negative reviews centred on renewal timing and on access to a program promised to buyers of Lakhiani’s book.

A support-heavy review mix tells you problems get resolved. It tells you less about whether the programs work.

Reddit

Reddit is harsher. In an r/selfimprovement thread asking whether Mindvalley is worth it, the top replies called it “great but buggy.” Members described being locked out of paid meditations in the app and routed to a WhatsApp AI bot for help. Others said a program had real value but they stopped using the Membership after a few months. Opinions on individual courses split by teacher. The pattern: the programs can be good, and the risk is paying for a year you do not use.

Mindvalley vs MasterClass vs Coursera

Mindvalley MasterClass Coursera Plus
Best for Guided personal growth and habits Inspiration from famous practitioners Career skills and certificates
Format 20-minute daily lessons over weeks Self-paced video classes University and industry courses with graded work
Credentials None Separate Certificates program Shareable certificates
Price (yearly) $499; $199 Black Friday 2026 $120 a year (Standard) $239 a year (normally $399)
Refund window 15 days (direct purchases) 30 days (first purchase) Annual plan: 14 days

Mindvalley and MasterClass overlap the most. MasterClass is the better buy for craft and creativity, Mindvalley for daily practice and behavior change. Our Mindvalley vs MasterClass comparison goes program by program.

Mindvalley alternatives

  • MasterClass ($120 a year for Standard): broader subjects, celebrity teachers, less day-to-day structure. See MasterClass.
  • Coursera Plus ($239 a year (normally $399)): psychology, wellbeing and leadership courses from universities, with certificates. Yale’s The Science of Well-Being is the closest match to Mindvalley’s themes. See Coursera Plus.
  • Meditation apps such as Headspace, Calm or the free Insight Timer: cheaper if meditation is all you want.
  • Books and free talks by the same teachers: Jim Kwik, Shefali Tsabary and Marisa Peer all publish widely, which is a no-cost way to test whether a teacher suits you.

More options: MasterClass alternatives and our Mindvalley app guide.

How we rated Mindvalley

Our 4.3 out of 5 is a weighted score across five criteria. We judged each from Mindvalley’s live pages, its published terms, Trustpilot and Reddit (all read 22 October 2026), not from a paid account:

Criterion Weight Score Why
Teachers and program content 30% 4.5 Recognized names and well-produced programs; evidence base varies
Format and follow-through 20% 4.5 Daily 20-minute lessons, cohorts and community are built for completion
Price and value 20% 4.0 $499 is fair for two or more programs a year; $199 at Black Friday is strong value
Policies and transparency 15% 4.0 Clear 15-day guarantee and self-serve refund; separately sold programs muddy the offer
Support and reliability 15% 4.0 Trustpilot 4.3 with strong support praise; Reddit reports app bugs

Weighted total: 4.25, rounded to 4.3.

Disclosure: OnlineCourseing earns a commission through Mindvalley’s affiliate program when you buy through our links. It does not change the price you pay, and it did not change the score above, which includes the complaints we found.

The verdict

Mindvalley is the strongest option we know for structured personal growth, and the Membership is the right way to buy it if you will use more than one program. The Quest format, the teachers and the community add up to better follow-through than books or scattered videos. The price is premium and the content is not all evidence-based, but the 15-day money-back guarantee makes it a low-risk test. If you are going to buy this year, the $199 Black Friday rate was live when we checked and is the price to pay. If you only want one program, check whether it is sold on its own before paying for a year.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Mindvalley cost?

The Mindvalley Membership is $499 a year, about $41.50 a month billed annually, and Mindvalley also offers monthly billing. On 5 November 2026 its Black Friday page sold the yearly Membership for $199. Some programs, such as WILDFIT, are sold separately.

Is Mindvalley worth the money?

For people who will complete two or more programs a year and like guided daily practice, yes. It is poor value for a single program or for career training. The 15-day money-back guarantee lets you test one program before you commit.

Does Mindvalley have a free trial?

No. Mindvalley offers a 15-day money-back guarantee on purchases made directly on mindvalley.com instead of a free trial, plus free one-off masterclasses that preview some programs.

Does Mindvalley have a refund policy?

Yes. Purchases made directly on mindvalley.com have a 15-day money-back guarantee on the first payment of a yearly or monthly plan, requested at mindvalley.com/refund. A refund ends your access. App-store purchases follow Apple or Google rules instead.

How do I cancel my Mindvalley subscription?

Sign in on the website and cancel in the Billing section of your account; you keep access until the end of the paid period. If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app, cancel in your phone’s subscription settings.

Is Mindvalley legit or a scam?

Mindvalley is a legitimate company, founded in 2002, with named teachers, published refund terms and a 4.3 Trustpilot score from more than 10,000 reviews. Complaints are mostly about auto-renewal, upsells and content that is not evidence-based.

Does Mindvalley have a Black Friday sale?

Yes. In 2026 Mindvalley opened its Black Friday price early: on 5 November its Black Friday page offered the yearly Membership for $199 instead of $499, until 30 November.

Is WILDFIT included in the Mindvalley Membership?

No. WILDFIT was sold separately in October 2026, at $899 for the 90-Day Challenge with live coaching. The Membership covers Mindvalley’s other 100+ programs.

What is the best Mindvalley quest?

For a first program, choose one with a measurable outcome: Jim Kwik’s Superbrain (30 days) for memory and focus, or the 15-day 6 Phase Meditation if you want a gentle start. Conscious Parenting suits parents.

Can I use Mindvalley on my phone and TV?

Yes. Mindvalley has iOS and Android apps and works in a web browser, and its WILDFIT page also lists Apple TV.

How long are Mindvalley lessons?

Most daily lessons take about 20 minutes. Programs run for several weeks; the ones we checked ranged from 15 to 35 days.

Can I pay for Mindvalley monthly?

Yes. Mindvalley offers a monthly plan as well as the yearly one, and says the yearly plan saves $689 over twelve monthly payments. The yearly plan cannot be split into installments.

Can I buy a single Mindvalley program?

Most programs come only with the Membership. A few, such as WILDFIT, are sold on their own, and Mindvalley Academy and coach training are separate purchases.

Who owns Mindvalley?

Mindvalley was co-founded in New York in December 2002 by Vishen Lakhiani and Michael Reining, and later moved to Kuala Lumpur. Lakhiani remains its founder and public face.

Is Mindvalley good for meditation?

It has several guided meditation programs, including the 15-day 6 Phase Meditation and the 28-day Silva Ultramind System. If meditation is all you want, a dedicated meditation app is cheaper.

Does OnlineCourseing earn money from Mindvalley?

Yes. We earn a commission through Mindvalley’s affiliate program when you buy through our links. It does not change the price you pay or our rating.
