The honest answer about Coursera discounts: Coursera publishes its own offers, and two are running now with no code needed: 20% off a year of Coursera Plus ($319.20 instead of $399, until 2 December 2026) and 40% off the first three months of the monthly plan ($35.40 a month instead of $59, until 12 February 2027). Coursera is unusual among major learning platforms in offering both real free options AND real promotional discounts. The platform runs:

- Free preview on most courses — not a trial and no credit card, but it is the first module only, including that module’s graded work; later modules are locked and there is no certificate
- Financial aid — available on most courses, and the only free route that still ends in a certificate

- 14-day refund window on Coursera Plus annual

Outside these lanes, the prices you see are the prices you pay. Coursera doesn’t have hidden coupon codes the public can’t find — the discounts above are the actual savings opportunities.
The free preview (most underrated discount — with a catch)
Most Coursera users don’t realize how much they can try without paying anything. They also tend to overestimate it, because Coursera has tightened this and most guides have not caught up. What the free preview actually gives you:
- Gives you the first module in full on most Coursera courses — videos, readings and that module’s graded assessments
- Locks every later module, and issues no certificate
- No credit card required
- On select courses only, Coursera instead offers “Full Course, No Certificate”, which unlocks all the material and graded work and withholds just the credential — that is the closest thing left to the old audit mode
- Perfect for evaluating Coursera content before subscribing or for knowledge-only learning
How to use it: open the course you want on Coursera and check its description page, which is where Coursera says the available preview option is shown. Choose the free option rather than starting a trial. Which one you get depends on the course, so check before you plan a study schedule around it — on most courses you will reach the end of module one and stop.
If you only want the knowledge from a Coursera course and not the certificate, a preview is the right first move, and on a select course it may be all you need. It’s free education at scale — the original mission Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller launched the platform around in 2012.
Coursera Plus seasonal promotions (2025-2026)
Coursera keeps two standing offers on its offers page and layers bigger sales on top several times a year. These are the offers it ran from late 2024 to now, from Coursera’s notices to its affiliate partners (we are one) and its own offer pages:

The pattern: a sale on the annual plan every one to two months, usually 40% off, with 50% at New Year and in early June. If you can wait a few weeks you will probably see 40% off; the standing 20% offer is the fallback. Prices are for the US; other regions sometimes get deeper discounts, and India has its own rupee price. Sale discounts apply automatically at checkout, no code required.
Student Beans 40% student discount
Verified students can claim a 40% discount on Coursera through Student Beans. Process:
- Go to Student Beans Coursera page
- Verify your student status (school email, student ID, or enrollment proof)
- Get a unique discount code (these are personal, not reusable)
- Apply at Coursera checkout
Student Beans lists it as 40% off Coursera Plus. Verification is real — you need a current school email or document. Don’t waste time trying to fake it.
Coursera’s own FAQ says it has no dedicated student discount program, so this runs through Student Beans rather than Coursera’s site. At 40% it beats the standing 20% annual offer and matches most seasonal sales; only the 50% holiday and early-June sales were deeper.
Is there a Coursera military discount?
We could not find one. Coursera’s offers page (checked 9 October 2026) lists no military or veteran discount and no ID.me program. An earlier version of this page said Coursera offered a military discount through ID.me; we could not verify it, so we have removed it.
If you are military-connected, ask your education office whether your branch or base provides Coursera access. Otherwise the standing offers and financial aid on individual courses are the reliable routes.
Coursera for Business pricing
Organizations with multiple seats get custom pricing. Coursera for Business covers:
- Coursera for Teams: up to 125 employees at $399 per user per year
- Coursera for Enterprise (larger organizations with custom learning paths and analytics)
- Custom credentialing programs for specific organizational skill gaps
Teams pricing is published ($399 per user per year on the Coursera Plus page, October 2026); Enterprise pricing is not, so you contact Coursera Sales through the Coursera for Business page. Best fit for HR or L&D leaders evaluating learning platforms for their organization.
What to do instead of hunting for codes
Three concrete moves that actually save money:
- Preview before subscribing. Pick the specific course or Specialization you want to take and preview it free first. If the content is right for you, then subscribe. This eliminates “subscribed and didn’t use it” waste, which is the most common Coursera spending mistake.
- Use the 7-day free trial as evaluation, not commitment. Subscribe to Coursera Plus, complete one Specialization or Professional Certificate’s first week, decide. Cancel before day 7 if it’s not right; keep going if it is. The trial is real and risk-free.
- Stack year-round Student Beans (if applicable) with 14-day annual refund window. Students using the 40% Student Beans discount + 14-day refund are at minimal financial risk for trying Coursera Plus.

Real personal codes exist for Student Beans verified students. Regional sales can run deeper than US ones (in January 2025 Coursera offered 65% off in Latin America, APAC and EMEA and a rupee price in India), which is often where a “65% off” or “75% off” listing comes from; those prices don’t apply to US buyers.
