Udacity Coupon Code 2026: Current Discounts, Free Options & What Works

Last updated: November 2026. Written by Josh Hutcheson, OnlineCourseing editor. Every offer on this page was checked on Udacity’s site, help center and Terms of Use on 1 November 2026, in a logged-out browser. See our review methodology.

Affiliate disclosure: links to Udacity are affiliate links; we may earn a commission at no cost to you. They go to Udacity’s own site, where any public sale is applied.

THE SHORT ANSWER

The best Udacity discount right now is 40% off, with Udacity's new-user offer. On the 4-month bundle that is $507.60 instead of $846, and on the monthly plan $150 a month instead of $249. Udacity applies a public sale itself, so you do not need a code from a coupon site. Check the total on the checkout page before you pay.

On 3 November 2026: Udacity’s Halloween sale (50% off, code HALLOWEEN50) had ended after a 48-hour extension past 31 October. Program pages showed list prices, and the standing discount was Udacity’s 40% new-user offer.

Our old reader code no longer works. On 1 November 2026, adding onlinecourseing40 to a Udacity program page showed full list prices and removed the 50% sale from the page. Do not use it.

List prices: $249 a month, $846 for a 4-month bundle ($212 a month), or $999 for one program as a one-time purchase.

No US free trial; refund window 7 days from your first purchase (14 in the EU), once per student.

Most Udacity coupon pages are lists of dead codes: 75% flash sales, Black Friday codes from years ago and one-month free trials that no longer exist. This page lists only the offers we could confirm on the day we checked, explains how Udacity’s pricing and promotions behave, and shows how to avoid paying more than you need to.

What happened to the onlinecourseing40 code?

Until autumn 2026 our reader code gave 40% off. On 1 November 2026 we loaded the same Udacity program page twice in a logged-out browser. Without a code it showed the 4-month bundle at $106 a month (50% off), the monthly plan at $125 and a single program at $499.50. With ?coupon=onlinecourseing40 added, it showed $212, $249 and $999, the full list prices, and the sale disappeared. We have removed the code from this page; on 1 November our Udacity links carried Udacity’s own sale code instead.

Which should you use?

When Udacity runs a public sale deeper than 40% (its Halloween sale was 50%), take it: it beats the 40% new-user offer, and Udacity’s help center says a coupon code “can only be applied once”, so you cannot combine the two. When no public sale is running, the new-user offer is the standing discount if you have never bought from Udacity. In every case the rule that protects you is the same: look at the total on the checkout page, and if a code makes it go up, remove the code.

What Udacity costs before any discount

Udacity’s main way to pay is a subscription to its whole catalog, and you work through whichever Nanodegree programs you want while you are subscribed. Its checkout help article describes the month-to-month and 4-month options; program pages on 1 November 2026 also offered a one-time purchase of a single program:

Plan List price What happens next
Monthly subscription $249 a month Renews monthly; cancel anytime
4-month bundle $846 upfront ($212 a month, 15% off) Converts to month-to-month at the regular monthly rate after 4 months
Individual course (one program) $999 one-time Pays for that program only, not the whole catalog

Here is what today’s discount does to the two subscription prices. The figures update automatically when Udacity’s price changes:

Plan List Today (40% off)
Monthly $249 a month $150 a month
4-month bundle $846 $507.60 for 4 months

During the 1 November sale the one-time program price was $499.50 (50% off $999). Udacity’s footnote: the discount “applies to the first 4 months of membership, after which plans are converted to month-to-month.”

Check Udacity’s checkout price

Monthly or the 4-month bundle: the break-even

At list price, four months on the monthly plan cost $996 ($249 × 4) against $846 for the bundle, so the bundle saves $150 if you really use all four months. The catch is the other direction. If you finish in three months, the monthly plan costs $747, which is $99 less than the bundle, and you can cancel as soon as you graduate. Two months costs $498.

During a 50% sale the gap narrows. On 1 November 2026 the bundle was $423 and the monthly plan $125 for each of the first four months ($500 for four), so the bundle saved $77 over four months, and three discounted months on the monthly plan ($375) still cost less than the bundle. The bundle only wins if you are confident a program will take the full four months.

Two more things change the calculation. The refund window is 7 days from your first purchase whichever plan you choose, so the bundle ties up more money if you discover in week two that the program is wrong for you. And once the discounted months end, plans renew at the regular monthly rate, so set a reminder to cancel if you are done. For a fuller breakdown of what a Nanodegree costs in total, see our Udacity Nanodegree cost guide.

When the one-time program price makes sense

The individual-course option ($999 list, $499.50 during the 1 November sale) pays for one program rather than the catalog. It only beats the subscription if a program would take you longer than about four months at the monthly rate, or if you want a single fixed payment. Udacity’s program page did not state how long access lasts, so check that on the checkout page before you choose it.

How to apply a Udacity coupon code

These are the steps from Udacity’s coupon redemption guide:

  1. Go to Udacity’s catalog and open the Nanodegree program or course you want.
  2. Click Enroll Now, then choose the access plan you prefer.
  3. Sign in, or enter your email to create an account if you are new.
  4. On the checkout page, type your code under Add Discount Code and apply it. Udacity says a code “can only be applied once”.
  5. Check the total, complete checkout, and start the onboarding steps.

During a public sale you usually do not need to type anything: the sale price shows on the program page and carries into checkout. If you add a code and the total goes up, remove it.

Why a code sometimes fails

Udacity’s Terms of Use say “not all promotions and pricing are available to all Students”, and learners enrolled through an employer (Enterprise Services) or a sponsor cannot use discounts at all. Its sale terms limit many offers to new customers, in select locations and in eligible currencies. If a code is rejected, check whether you are signed into an employer-linked account, whether the offer is for new users only, and whether it has expired.

How Udacity promotions actually work

A few rules from Udacity’s help center and sale terms explain most of the confusion around its coupons:

  • Udacity says it does not offer discounts directly. Its discounts FAQ says promotional offers arrive “via email” once you have an account, so staying subscribed to Udacity’s marketing emails is the most reliable way to hear about a sale.
  • Promotions are time-sensitive and cannot be deferred. Udacity says promotions “only apply for new enrollments during that promotional period” and that it does “not support deferments”.
  • Countdown banners are not always literal. The Halloween sale was due to end on 31 October and was then “extended for 48 hours”. Treat a countdown as a prompt to check the price, not as proof the offer ends tonight.
  • Discounts cover the first months, not forever. Udacity’s 2026 sales applied to the first 4 months, after which plans “are converted to month-to-month”. Budget for the full price once a discount runs out.
  • New customers get the best offers. The May 2026 sale terms said “Valid for new customers only” and excluded degree enrollment fees.

Udacity sales in 2026 so far

When Offer Terms Source
Late October to early November 2026 50% off (HALLOWEEN50) Due to end 31 Oct; “extended for 48 hours”; first 4 months; one-time program $499.50 Udacity site and emails
Early September 2026 50% off First 4 months; “Final hours” banner stayed up about a week Udacity site, 5 to 11 Sept
Mid to late May 2026 60% off (BIGSALE) $249 to $99 a month; monthly, bundle or one-time purchase; new customers only; ended 25 May 2026 at 15:59 PT Udacity email, 18 May 2026

Udacity called the May sale “our biggest sale of the year … bigger than Black Friday”.

The pattern: Udacity runs a 50% sale roughly every couple of months and went to 60% once. If you just missed a sale, the next one is likely within weeks, and the 40% new-user offer covers the gap.

Does Udacity have a free trial?

Only in some countries. Udacity’s free trial article says the 7-day free trial is “only available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey, and United Kingdom”. It is not offered in the United States. Where it is available, you must enter payment details, and the trial rolls into a paid monthly subscription unless you cancel before it ends. The one-month free access that older coupon pages still advertise is no longer offered.

Udacity’s refund policy: your real safety net

Because codes change, the refund policy matters more than any single discount. Udacity’s Terms of Use set these rules:

  • 7 days from your initial purchase of a subscription or a single Nanodegree program to cancel for a full refund (14 days for EU residents), unless you graduate within that window.
  • The refund applies to your first month only. Renewals and re-enrollments do not get a new refund window.
  • Only one refund per student. If you cancel, get a refund and come back, you are not entitled to another.
  • After the window, canceling stops future charges and you keep access until the end of the billing period you paid for, but you get no refund for that period.
  • The one-time $199 enrollment fee for Udacity’s master’s programs is non-refundable.

A practical approach: start on the monthly plan with the best discount available, use the first week to confirm the program suits you, and only then consider a longer bundle.

Free ways to learn on Udacity

Udacity still publishes free courses in its catalog. The trade-off is that they come with no certificate: Udacity’s certificate FAQ compares free courses to a textbook, available to read but without verification that you finished. They are a sensible way to test a subject before paying. Our list of the best free Udacity courses picks the strongest ones.

Udacity scholarships in 2026

Udacity’s help center says it does not award scholarships to individuals; scholarships run as programs with sponsors. On 16 September 2026 Udacity’s scholarships page listed one open program, AWS AI & ML Scholars, sponsored by AWS and open to learners aged 18 or older, with three tracks. Older programs that coupon sites still link to, including the Bertelsmann Tech Scholarships, are no longer open.

Student, military and Black Friday discounts

  • Student discount: Udacity does not publish one. Its help center points to promotional emails instead. Students are better served by a public sale, the new-user offer or a scholarship.
  • Military discount: we found no military or veteran discount on Udacity’s site or in its help center.
  • Black Friday: no Black Friday 2026 offer had been announced on 1 November. In 2025 Udacity took 55% off with code BLACKFRIDAY55 from 20 November to 5 December. In 2026 it has already run 50% twice and 60% once, so a November sale is likely but its size is not known. Our Black Friday online course deals page compares Udacity’s last Black Friday with every other platform’s.
  • Through your employer: if your company has Udacity for Business, you may get access at no cost to you, but Udacity’s terms say consumer discounts do not apply to enterprise-sponsored accounts.

Is a Udacity subscription worth it at a discount?

At today’s 40% off, the monthly plan is $150 a month, so a program finished in three or four months costs three or four times that while the discount lasts. That is more than a Coursera Plus subscription and much less than a bootcamp. What you pay for is project review by human reviewers and a catalog built around job skills, which suits learners who finish projects and want feedback on them. It suits people who want a recognized university credential less well. Our Udacity Nanodegree review covers what the programs deliver, our best Udacity courses guide covers which programs are strongest, and Coursera vs Udacity compares the two.

Udacity also offers a Master’s in AI, awarded by Woolf, that runs on the subscription plus a one-time $199 enrollment fee. Sale terms exclude degree enrollment fees, so read that review before assuming a discount applies to the degree in the same way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best Udacity coupon code right now?

On 3 November 2026 no public sale was running, so the best discount was Udacity’s own 40% new-user offer: $507.60 for the 4-month bundle instead of $846. Its Halloween sale (50% off, code HALLOWEEN50) ended in early November. When Udacity runs a deeper public sale, it applies automatically on program pages.

Does the onlinecourseing40 code still work?

No. On 1 November 2026 a Udacity program page with onlinecourseing40 added showed full list prices ($249 a month, $846 for 4 months, $999 for one program) and hid the 50% sale. Do not use it.

Can you stack Udacity coupon codes?

No. Udacity’s redemption guide says a coupon code can only be applied once, and a checkout takes one discount code. Compare the totals and use the larger discount.

How much does Udacity cost without a coupon?

Udacity’s list price is $249 a month, $846 upfront for a 4-month bundle ($212 a month), or $999 for a single program as a one-time purchase. After the bundle’s four months, the plan converts to month-to-month at the regular rate.

Does Udacity offer a free trial?

Only in some countries. Udacity’s help center lists a 7-day free trial in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom. It is not available in the United States, it requires payment details, and it rolls into a paid plan unless canceled.

Does Udacity have a student discount?

Udacity does not publish a student discount. Its help center says promotional offers are sent by email to account holders. Public sales, the 40% new-user offer and sponsored scholarships are the practical options for students.

What is Udacity’s refund policy?

Udacity’s Terms of Use give you 7 days from your initial purchase of a subscription or single Nanodegree program to cancel for a full refund, or 14 days in the EU. It applies to the first month only, and only one refund is allowed per student.

Does Udacity have a Black Friday sale?

It did in 2025: 55% off with code BLACKFRIDAY55 from 20 November to 5 December. No Black Friday 2026 offer had been announced on 1 November 2026. Udacity says promotions only apply to enrollments made during the promotional period.

How often does Udacity have sales?

Often. In 2026 it ran 60% off in May, 50% off in early September and 50% off for Halloween, which was extended into November. Udacity sends its offers by email to account holders.

Are Udacity’s free courses really free?

Yes. Udacity publishes free courses in its catalog, but they do not include a certificate. Udacity’s help center describes them as being like a textbook: open to anyone, with no verification that you completed them.
