My Story: Ong Kam Siong

I am the go-to person in Finance team for matter of finance analytics/automation. I just started this job few weeks ago and am excited to explore the ways for process improvement.

I study Accounting, Economic & Mathematics in high school then graduated with a Business degree. However, I went on to study professional accounting qualification such as CIMA and work in Finance team in companies such as IBM and Hewlett Packard.

I enjoy US drama and reading whenever I have free time. Speaking of achievement, I landed a new job with an e-commerce in my country recently. The job requires finance and programming skill such as SQL, Python/R which I am truly happy that my hard work finally paid off.

I am big fan of Apple Steve Job. His idea and determination give me the inspiration – “keep finding your passion, do not settle.”

By the way this is me and an old friend having fun together at Up-Side-Down museum in Penang island.

I have learned a lot of practical skills, particularly Python from Udacity. I completed Data Foundation Nanodegree back in 2016 and recently Data Analyst Nanodegree. I believe for this reason, my Linkedin profile and portfolio attracted some recruiters and eventually I got a new job of my dream.
