After that, Stephane Maarek’s Udemy courses are the most widely used paid prep for AWS exams, and Google’s own certificate programs on Coursera are the best route into Google Cloud. Best for: beginners who want one exam-focused video course. Maarek’s course is rated 4.7 from 296,508 ratings, has about 1.39 million students and was updated in October 2026. It is a faster, exam-shaped complement to AWS’s free course, with practice questions. Reddit learners also mention ExamPro’s CLF course and Tutorials Dojo’s practice exams for this stage.

Best for: aspiring cloud engineers and architects. “Ultimate AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate 2026” is rated 4.7 from 299,381 ratings, with about 1.35 million students, and was updated in October 2026. It covers compute, storage, networking, databases, security and the architecture patterns the SAA-C03 exam tests ($150, 130 minutes, 65 questions). One r/AWSCertifications poster said they wished they had taken the Solutions Architect Associate before the Developer Associate, since it gives the broadest base. Best for: cloud administrators and operations engineers. AWS renamed the SysOps Administrator certification to CloudOps Engineer Associate (exam SOA-C03, $150, 130 minutes, 65 questions). It covers monitoring, automation, deployment, security operations and networking. Best for: multi-cloud learners and teams. Pluralsight’s Cloud+ plan includes the full former A Cloud Guru library, with hands-on labs for AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, for $24.50 a month billed yearly; Core Tech is $21 and Complete is $39 a month, billed yearly (Pluralsight pricing page, 14 October 2026). There is a 10-day trial, and many employers pay for it.

Best for: senior AWS engineers. The Solutions Architect Professional exam is AWS’s hardest general architecture exam ($300, 180 minutes, 75 questions). Zeal Vora’s “AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Professional 2026 [NEW]” is rated 4.7 from 3,024 ratings and was updated in July 2026. Timing matters: AWS is replacing the exam. Registration for SAP-C03 opens on 27 October 2026, and the last day to sit SAP-C02 is 16 November 2026. Unless you can test before that date, wait for the course to add SAP-C03 material.

This beginner course from the University of Minnesota’s Cybersecurity in the Cloud Specialization is rated 4.4 from 112 reviews, has about 19,000 learners and takes about a week at 10 hours. 16. Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS)

Best for: engineers who want provider-neutral Linux skills. Almost every cloud server runs Linux, and the LFCS is a 2-hour, hands-on exam taken at a command line. It costs $445 for the exam alone, $625 with a year of the Linux Foundation’s THRIVE-ONE course subscription, or $645 with its LFS207 course, and includes a retake and two exam-simulator sessions. The certification is valid for 2 years. For a free start, the Linux Foundation’s Introduction to Linux course on edX can be audited for free.

Cloud is one of the easiest technical fields to learn for free. The exams are the cost.
