Bottom line: Right now you do not need a CFI discount code. When we checked on 25 September 2026, CFI’s own pricing page was taking 30% off both memberships: Self-Study $347.90 a year instead of $497, Full-Immersion $592.90 instead of $847. Code AFF30 gives exactly the same 30%, so it only matters if the public discount drops back below that. It did in early September, when the public badge read 20%. The one regular sale that goes deeper is Black Friday, which has run at 40–45% for three years.

No, and it is worth being clear about why, because most CFI coupon pages still tell you to hunt for one. CFI shows a standing discount badge on its own pricing page. For most of the summer that badge read 20% off, which is when a code like AFF30 (30% off, released to CFI’s affiliate partners in August) genuinely saved you money: about $50 on Self-Study. Sometime between 8 and 18 September the badge moved to 30%, and on 25 September we loaded the pricing page twice in a fresh browser, once plain and once with AFF30 applied. Both showed the same $347.90 and $592.90.
So the practical advice is simple. Open the pricing page and read the badge. If it says 30% or more, buy at the listed price. If it has dropped back to 20%, enter AFF30 at checkout and you will get the 30% price anyway. CFI plans compared: what each tier includes
CFI sells an annual membership, not individual courses. Both paid tiers unlock the whole catalogue: more than 250 courses, all 7 certifications (FMVA, FPAP, CBCA, CMSA, BIDA, FPWMP and FTIP), 15 specialization programs and 575+ CPE/CPD credits, according to CFI’s pricing page. The price difference buys personal support, not more content.

For most people Self-Study is the right buy. If your goal is the FMVA or another CFI certification, it contains everything you need to earn it. Full-Immersion earns its extra $245 a year mainly if you want a human to review your models or answer questions while you work through the material, which is most valuable during a career switch or an active job search. When CFI’s discount goes deeper than 30%
Only one sale has reliably beaten 30%: Black Friday and Cyber Monday in late November. CFI took 40% off in 2023, up to 45% in 2024 and 40% in 2025. At 40%, Self-Study would cost $298.20, about $50 less than today. The 2026 sale had not been announced when we checked, so our CFI Black Friday tracker is the place to watch.
CFI runs other promotions through the year, but not on a published calendar, so trust the pricing page over any coupon site. And remember that codes do not stack with the sitewide discount: whichever is larger is what you get.
Is waiting two months worth $50? If you would start studying now, probably not: a year of FMVA progress is worth more than the saving. If you were planning to start in December anyway, waiting costs you nothing.
Is CFI worth the price?
For practical, job-ready financial modelling, CFI is one of the better values in finance training. The FMVA is well known in corporate finance, FP&A and banking, and one membership covers all seven certifications rather than charging per credential. CFI says more than 3 million professionals have trained with it.
It is the wrong buy if you need one narrow skill, where a single Udemy course costs less, or if you are aiming for the CFA charter, which does a different job. If you want hands-on modelling ability and a credential to show for it, $347.90 is modest next to a bootcamp or a degree. Our full CFI review covers the trade-offs.
How to get the best CFI price
- Start with a free account. Watch the introductory videos for the courses you care about and take the free Careers in Finance course before you pay anything.
- If you are a student, verify first. CFI gives verified students 50% off either plan, $248.50 a year for Self-Study, which beats every other offer. Our CFI student discount guide covers how to qualify.
- Otherwise, read the pricing-page badge. At 30% or more, buy at the listed price. Below 30%, apply AFF30.
- Buying in November? Wait for Black Friday, which has run at 40% or more for three years.

The full lessons are paid, and so are certificates: CFI’s course FAQ says the qualified assessment must be passed during an all-access membership.
When does CFI have sales?
Black Friday is CFI’s deepest regular sale: 40% off in 2023, up to 45% in 2024 and 40% in 2025. The 2026 sale had not been announced when we checked. At 40% off, Self-Study would be about $50 cheaper than today’s 30% price.
Can I stack AFF30 with a sale?
