Corporate Finance Institute restructured its pricing around two annual tiers. There's no longer a free-courses-only tier (those moved behind a free account), no monthly option, and no per-course pricing. The choice is binary: do you want guided/coached access (Full-Immersion) or self-paced (Self-Study)?
| Plan | Standard price | With MAY26 code | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Self-Study | $497/yr | $347.90/yr | Independent learners on a defined goal (FMVA, CMSA) with discipline to self-pace |
| Full-Immersion | $847/yr | $592.90/yr | Career-switchers, advanced learners doing model reviews, anyone wanting the AI Tutor + 1-on-1 support |

Here's the part CFI doesn't make obvious: both Self-Study and Full-Immersion unlock identical content access. All 250+ courses, all 7 accredited certifications, all 17 specializations. The Self-Study tier is not a "lite" version — it's the same curriculum without the coaching layer.
If you're going to do more than one certification, CFI's bundled pricing is a near-impossible value to beat. Compare against single-cert programs like Wall Street Prep ($499+ per cert), Breaking Into Wall Street ($497+ per cert), or NYIF ($1,500+ per cert) — CFI's $347.90 unlocks all 7.
This is where the real CFI pricing decision lives. The $245 gap between Self-Study and Full-Immersion (or $254 at standard pricing) buys five distinct things:
Separate from the public Self-Study/Full-Immersion plans:
| Provider | Annual cost | Certifications included | Best vs CFI when… |
|---|---|---|---|
| CFI Self-Study | $347.90 (with MAY26) | All 7 | — |
| Wall Street Prep | $499–$2,000+ per cert | Single cert per purchase | You're targeting IB interviews specifically |
| Breaking Into Wall Street | $497+ per cert | Single cert per purchase | You want LBO/M&A depth specifically |
| Coursera Plus | $399/yr | University-issued (not finance-specific) | You want academic credentials over industry-recognized |
| CFA Institute Self-Study | $1,200+ per exam level | CFA (3 levels, 2-4 years) | You're targeting buy-side / PM roles — CFA dominates there |
CFI's biggest pricing argument: if you'd do more than one certification, no other provider gets close. Two single-cert purchases elsewhere already exceed CFI's annual price.
For deeper head-to-head comparisons:
CFI offers free account registration that unlocks a small set of preview courses, but there's no time-limited full-access trial of Self-Study or Full-Immersion. For full course access, you commit to the annual subscription. The 30% MAY26 promo softens the entry cost considerably.
CFI doesn't publish a public money-back guarantee on its pricing page. Refunds appear to be handled case-by-case via support. Treat the annual fee as committed once paid, and use the free account to verify CFI's teaching style suits you before subscribing.
No. CFI moved away from monthly pricing and only offers annual billing in 2026. Effective monthly cost: $29/month for Self-Study (with MAY26), $49/month for Full-Immersion. There's no Pluralsight-style monthly subscription option.
The certifications themselves don't expire — once earned, they're permanently yours and verifiable via blockchain. However, ongoing access to courses, templates, and CPE/CPD credit tracking requires an active annual subscription. If you let your subscription lapse, you keep your cert but lose access to refresher materials.
They serve different purposes. CFA is a 3-level, 2-4-year credential that dominates buy-side and portfolio-management hiring. CFI's FMVA is a financial-modeling certification recognized in IB, corporate finance, FP&A, and consulting. Most finance pros find them complementary, not substitutes — CFI for practical modeling skills, CFA for asset-management credibility.
You can't buy the FMVA alone — it's included in both Self-Study ($347.90 with MAY26) and Full-Immersion ($592.90 with MAY26). Effectively, $347.90 is the minimum price to earn the FMVA. There's no à-la-carte FMVA purchase option in CFI's 2026 pricing.
In the US, professional certification programs related to your existing job may be deductible as unreimbursed employee expenses (changed substantially after TCJA) or as a business expense if you're self-employed. Consult your tax professional — this isn't tax advice. Many employers also reimburse CFI directly as a professional development benefit.
Annual subscriptions auto-renew. Cancel any time from your account settings — cancellation prevents the next year's charge but doesn't refund the current year. Cancel and you keep access through the end of the paid period.

CFI runs serious discounts a few times a year on FMVA and the other certs. I send a heads-up the day deals drop — plus my Tuesday verdicts on which cert is actually worth it.
