Hi, there! My name is Joseph Ugwu and I’m based in Lagos.
To say I’m career-focused would be an understatement. I’m very clear about what my goals are, and I put in the work to make these goals a reality.
I’m a Surveillance and Investigations Analyst at the Stock Exchange (NSE). I’ve been working at the NSE since September 2018.
As a financial Analyst, my responsibilities include observing & preventing market infractions manipulations.
In 2016, I graduated from the University of Nigeria in Nsukka with a Bachelor’s degree. I’ve always believed that upskilling is very important. It’s crucial for learning to be part of our lives, no matter what age or stage we’re at.
It’s a great way to boost your career, and your pay as well. I’ve known that if I want to truly succeed as a world-class financial analyst, I had to keep widening my skill set and learning.
My latest addition in terms of certifications was earlier in 2021 when I enrolled in the Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) program at the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI).
Outside of work, I’m quite a fitness enthusiast. I can’t even remember the last time I went a day without doing a hundred push-ups at least.
I try to maintain as much discipline as possible in all aspects of my life. If I had to describe myself in three words, I would say I’m energetic, dedicated, and disciplined.
