QUICK ANSWER
Zero to Mastery has three plans with identical course access: you only choose how you pay.
- Monthly: $49 a month ($588 over a year)
- Annual: $299 a year, about $25 a month. With a 10% code it is $269.10 a year, renewals included
- Lifetime: $1,299 once ($1,169.10 with the same code)
- Single course: US$399 one-time for the bootcamps we checked, more than a year of the annual plan
- Risk: 30-day money-back guarantee, no free trial
Zero to Mastery (ZTM) pricing is simple on the surface: three plans, all with the same course access. The monthly plan costs $49 a month. The annual plan costs $299 a year, which works out to about $25 a month. The lifetime plan is a one-time payment of $1,299. Every plan includes every course in the ZTM library, including new courses as they launch.
Below, I break down what each plan includes, what the plans really cost once you count codes and regional discounts, who each plan suits, and how ZTM compares with Codecademy and Coursera Plus. Every price on this page was read on ZTM’s pricing page or at its checkout on 11 October 2026.

| Plan | List price | Effective monthly | With a 10% code | Cost over 3 years |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $49 a month | $49 | Code applies to annual and lifetime | $1,764 |
| Annual (best value for most people) | $299 a year | About $25 | $269.10 a year (renews at $269.10) | $897, or $807.30 with the code |
| Lifetime | $1,299 once | Not applicable | $1,169.10 once | $1,299, or $1,169.10 with the code |
ZTM advertises the annual plan as “49% off” because it measures it against twelve months of the monthly plan ($588). That saving is real, and it is permanent: it is the standing annual price, not a sale.
Monthly plan ($49 a month)
The monthly plan suits you if you want to test ZTM before committing, or you only need one intensive course for a month or two. You get full access to every course and career path, and you can cancel at any time. The downside is cost: twelve months on the monthly plan add up to $588, $289 more than the annual plan. If you expect to study for more than about six months, annual billing is cheaper.
Annual plan ($299 a year)
The annual plan is the best value for most people. You are billed once a year, and the $25-a-month equivalent is roughly half the monthly price. With a working 10% code the first year drops to $269.10, and our checkout test showed the discount carried into the recurring total too. This is the plan to pick if you are working through a career path or plan to take several courses over the next year.
Lifetime plan ($1,299 once)
The lifetime plan is a single payment for permanent access to the whole library, including future courses. Against annual renewals it pays for itself in about 4.3 years ($1,299 divided by $299). Against the monthly plan it pays for itself in about 2.2 years. If you are confident you will use ZTM for four years or more, it saves money. If not, the annual plan is the safer choice, and the Lifetime Learning Challenge (below) offers another route to lifetime access.
Which ZTM Plan Should You Choose?
Because every plan includes the same content, the right plan depends only on how long you will study and how sure you are. Four common situations:
- You want to test ZTM first: start on the annual plan with a 10% code rather than the monthly plan, and use the 30-day money-back guarantee as your trial. A refund within 30 days costs you nothing, while a monthly plan you keep for six months costs $294.
- You need one intensive course for a few weeks: the monthly plan at $49 is the cheapest way to finish a single course and earn its certificate, as long as you cancel when you are done.
- You are following a career path: the annual plan. Most paths have 7 to 17 courses, which takes most learners many months at a few hours a week.
- You expect to use ZTM for years: compare the lifetime plan ($1,169.10 with the code) with the Lifetime Learning Challenge, which can get you lifetime access for about two and a half years of annual billing.
If you live in a low or middle income country, ask ZTM about purchasing power parity pricing before choosing, since it applies only to the annual plan.
Buying a Single ZTM Course Instead
ZTM also sells individual courses outside the membership. On 11 October 2026 the course pages for the Python bootcamp and the AI Agents bootcamp both offered “This course only” for US$399, a single payment with lifetime access to that one course, its updates and a completion certificate. That is $100 more than a full year of the annual membership, which includes the same course plus 180-plus others.
A single course makes sense only if you want permanent access to one specific course and never plan to take a second. For almost everyone else, the annual membership is cheaper even if you cancel after a year, because finished courses keep their certificates.
What You Get With Every ZTM Plan
All three membership plans include the same features. There is no premium tier and no course held back for a higher price. According to ZTM’s pricing page, every membership includes:
- Unlimited access to all courses: ZTM’s homepage counted 183 courses and 1,854 video hours on 11 October 2026, covering web development, AI and machine learning, data, cybersecurity, DevOps and cloud, design and career skills. New courses are included at no extra cost.
- Guided career paths: we counted 26 paths on ZTM’s career paths page, from Frontend Developer and Data Analyst to AI Engineer, each a sequenced list of 6 to 23 courses (see all career paths).
- A 500,000-plus member Discord community with students, alumni, teaching assistants and instructors.
- Live career coaching sessions with mentors, held monthly.
- Completion certificates for every course, plus a personalized ZTM Passport that tracks what you have finished.
- A private LinkedIn networking group and priority support.
- A 30-day money-back guarantee on purchases.
The key point: you are not choosing between feature tiers. You are choosing a billing cycle. The only differences between the plans are how much you pay and how often.
Is There Free ZTM Content?
Zero to Mastery does not offer a free tier or a free trial for the Academy. You can still sample the teaching before paying:
- YouTube: the Zero To Mastery channel (about 276,000 subscribers) publishes tutorials and course previews, which show you the teaching style.
- The ZTM blog and cheat sheets: 300-plus free articles and guides on careers and programming.
- Free course previews: course pages list the full curriculum, so you can check the syllabus before you buy.
- The 30-day refund: not a free trial, but you can join, use the full platform and ask for your money back within 30 days.
- Udemy: some ZTM instructors, including founder Andrei Neagoie, also sell individual courses on Udemy as one-off purchases.
Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) Pricing
ZTM charges in US dollars, but it offers a purchasing power parity discount on the annual plan to anyone living in a low income or middle income country as classified by the World Bank. The discount is not applied automatically. ZTM’s FAQ says to email support@zerotomastery.io with proof of residence, and it will send you the discounted price. ZTM does not publish the size of the discount, and it is the most generous saving available if you qualify.
Team and Employer-Paid Plans
If your employer has a training budget, ZTM encourages you to ask it to pay, and its pricing page includes a “convince your boss” section for exactly that. For groups, ZTM sells team licenses billed annually: you buy a number of seats and assign them to employees, and each seat gets the full Pro plan. When we checked, the team page showed a 10% volume discount at its default seat count and offered tailored pricing for larger teams.
How ZTM Pricing Compares
Here is how Zero to Mastery pricing compares with two popular subscription alternatives, using prices read on each platform’s pricing page on 11 October 2026:
| Platform | Monthly billing | Annual billing | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zero to Mastery | $49 a month | $299 a year (about $25 a month) | All 180+ courses, 26 career paths, Discord community |
| Codecademy Pro | $39.99 a month | $239.88 a year ($19.99 a month) | Interactive courses, career paths, interview prep, certification prep |
| Codecademy Plus | $29.99 a month | $179.88 a year ($14.99 a month) | Courses and most skill paths, no career paths |
| Coursera Plus | $59 a month | $399 a year | 10,000+ courses and university or company certificates |
| Udemy | Pay per course | Pay per course | One course per purchase, frequent sales |
ZTM sits in the middle on price. On annual billing it costs about $59 a year more than Codecademy Pro ($29 more with a 10% code) and $100 a year less than Coursera Plus. What separates it is the format: long project-based video bootcamps plus a large, active Discord community. Codecademy teaches through short interactive exercises in the browser, and Coursera offers university- and company-branded certificates. If you only need one course, a Udemy purchase during a sale is usually the cheapest route.

Is Zero to Mastery Worth the Price?
ZTM is rated 4.9 from 894 reviews on Trustpilot (ZTM manages its profile there), and reviewers mostly praise the structured paths, the up-to-date courses and the community. Whether it is worth the money for you depends on how you learn and how long you will study.
ZTM is likely worth it if you:
- Are changing careers into tech and want a structured path from beginner to job-ready.
- Want a community: the Discord is where you get help, code reviews and accountability.
- Are interested in web development, AI and machine learning, data, cybersecurity or DevOps, ZTM’s deepest areas.
- Prefer video lessons followed by projects you build in your own editor.
- Plan to take several courses over several months, which is where a subscription pays off.
ZTM may not be worth it if you:
- Only need one specific course: a single Udemy course during a sale is cheaper than one month of ZTM.
- Prefer interactive, in-browser exercises: Codecademy is built for that style.
- Need a university-branded credential for your resume: Coursera Plus includes certificates from universities and companies such as Google.
- Want languages ZTM does not teach, such as Swift, Kotlin, Ruby, C++ or R.

The Lifetime Learning Challenge: Lifetime Access Without Paying $1,299
ZTM runs a Lifetime Learning Challenge: if you are a monthly or annual member and complete at least one new lesson in each of 30 calendar months, ZTM upgrades your account to lifetime access for free. According to ZTM’s terms, the 30 months are cumulative, so a break does not reset your progress, and progress is kept if you cancel and later resubscribe on the same account.
Two conditions matter. Onboarding and administrative lessons do not count, and any refund or chargeback on your account disqualifies you unless ZTM approved it in writing. If the lifetime plan appeals to you, starting on the annual plan and completing the challenge is cheaper than paying $1,299 up front: 30 months of annual billing cost about $748.
Refunds, Cancellation and Renewal
- Refunds: email support@zerotomastery.io within 30 days of purchase and ZTM refunds you. Its terms (last updated 19 February 2024) reserve the right to refuse repeat refunds or anyone it believes is gaming the system.
- Cancellation: cancel from your account at any time. Your plan expires at the end of the current billing period and you are not charged again.
- Renewal: monthly and annual plans renew automatically. Our checkout test showed a 10% code discounting the recurring price as well as the first payment.
- Taxes: sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where it applies, so the total can be higher than the list price.
How to Get the Best ZTM Price
Here are the ways to pay less, from easiest to most specialized:
- Choose annual billing. $299 instead of $588 a year on monthly billing.
- Add a 10% code. FRIENDS10 and YTREACT10 each took 10% off the annual and lifetime plans at checkout on 11 October 2026. Our annual-plan link opens the checkout with FRIENDS10 already applied.
- Ask about PPP if you live in a low or middle income country.
- Wait for Black Friday if you can. In 2025 ZTM sold the annual plan at 66% off from late November until 1 December.
- Use the Lifetime Learning Challenge instead of buying lifetime outright.

ZTM costs $49 a month on the monthly plan, $299 a year on the annual plan (about $25 a month), or $1,299 once for lifetime access. Every plan includes the same courses, career paths and community. A 10% code such as FRIENDS10 brings the annual plan to $269.10 a year.
Does Zero to Mastery offer a free trial?
No. ZTM has no free trial or free tier for the Academy. It offers a 30-day money-back guarantee instead: email support within 30 days of purchase for a refund. Its YouTube channel, blog and cheat sheets are free if you want to sample the teaching first.
Can I cancel my ZTM subscription anytime?
Yes. You cancel from your own account, and the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. You are not charged again after that. The lifetime plan is a one-time payment, so there is nothing to cancel.
Is the ZTM lifetime plan worth it?
It pays for itself after about 4.3 years compared with renewing the annual plan, or about 2.2 years compared with paying monthly. If you are not sure you will still be using ZTM in four years, start on the annual plan. Annual and monthly members can also earn lifetime access free through the Lifetime Learning Challenge.
Can I buy a single ZTM course instead of a membership?
Yes. ZTM course pages offer a one-course purchase with lifetime access to that course. The Python bootcamp and the AI Agents bootcamp were each US$399 when we checked, which is more than a full year of the annual membership.
Does ZTM have a student discount?
ZTM does not run a student discount program. It does offer a purchasing power parity discount on the annual plan for residents of low and middle income countries on the World Bank’s list. You request it by emailing support with proof of residence.
Do I get new courses with my subscription?
Yes. Monthly, annual and lifetime members all get every current course and every course ZTM adds later, at no extra cost.
