15+ Best SAP Courses & Certifications Online in 2026

Last updated: October 2026. Written by Josh Hutcheson. See our review methodology.

Quick verdict

Bottom line: SAP is a career, not a weekend skill, so the right course depends on where you are headed. For a credential that takes you from zero toward an entry-level consulting role, the SAP-built SAP Technology Consultant Professional Certificate on Coursera is the strongest pick. For hands-on ERP skills, The Ultimate SAP S/4HANA Course 2026 on Udemy is the best value. After that, go deep on one module: FICO, MM, SD, ABAP or SuccessFactors. Official SAP certification exams are booked separately through SAP, not Udemy or Coursera.

SAP is enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that runs finance, supply chain, HR, procurement and manufacturing for many of the world’s largest companies. That is why SAP skills pay well and why the learning curve is real. A good SAP course has to do two things at once: teach you how the software behaves on screen, and explain the business process underneath it.

This guide covers 15 options: six featured picks, seven module-specific courses, and SAP’s own two learning routes (free SAP Learning journeys and the paid SAP Learning Hub). Every Udemy and Coursera listing was loaded on 21 October 2026 to confirm it is live and to record its current rating, enrollment, length and last-updated date. We did not complete every course, so we describe what each covers rather than claiming to have tested it. We also read what SAP professionals tell newcomers on r/SAP. We are an independent reviewer: Coursera and Udemy pay us a commission on some links, and that never changes the ranking. SAP pays us nothing.

1. SAP Technology Consultant Professional Certificate — best credential

This is the course to take if you want SAP on your resume with something official behind it. It is built and taught by SAP, delivered on Coursera, and aimed at people with no prior SAP experience who want to become entry-level consultants. It has 122,180 learners enrolled and a 4.6 rating from 1,714 reviews, and Coursera estimates 12 weeks at 6 hours a week across seven courses. You learn the consultant’s role end to end: how SAP projects run, the basics of S/4HANA, agile delivery, and the client-facing skills consultants need, finishing with hands-on projects designed by SAP.

Two extras make it better value than it first looks. It carries an ACE credit recommendation, so participating US colleges may grant credit for it, and the certificate page offers a 25% discount on SAP Certification exams through the SAP Learning site. The honest caveat: it teaches broad consulting readiness rather than deep configuration in one module. If you want to become an SAP FICO specialist, you will still need module training afterward. It is included with Coursera Plus ($59 a month or $399 a year on 21 October 2026), so the effective cost is low if you finish in a few months.

2. The Ultimate SAP S/4HANA Course 2026 — best overall value

If you want to use SAP rather than just describe it, this is the best-value course on the list. Michael Todd’s course carries 4.6 from 22,150 ratings with 164,124 students, runs 22.5 hours, and was updated in October 2026, which matters because S/4HANA changes release to release. It walks you through the modern SAP interface, Fiori, and core finance, logistics, production and HR processes with more than 90 business scenarios. The “from zero to expert” framing is marketing, but the coverage is real and the pacing suits self-learners.

Buy it on sale: Udemy’s list price is rarely what anyone pays, and on 21 October 2026 Udemy was running a site-wide sale with courses from $12.99.

3. SAP for Beginners – Get Started with SAP — best first course

Before you commit to a long program, spend a few hours here. Stefan Kohler’s short orientation (4.5 from 5,539 ratings, 50,159 students, 2.5 hours, updated July 2025) answers the questions every newcomer has: what SAP actually is, how the modules fit together, what a transaction code is, and where you fit as a user or consultant. It will not make you employable on its own, and that is not its job; it is the cheapest way to find out whether SAP is a path you want.

4. SAP Simplified for Absolute Beginners — cheapest orientation

This is the most-reviewed beginner course in the SAP catalog: 4.5 from 24,206 ratings and 76,007 students. Ulrika Garner’s plain-English explainer of what SAP is and why companies run it remains solid, but it was last updated in May 2020, so the screens predate the current S/4HANA look. The concepts (modules, master data, the role of an ERP) have not changed. Pair it with one of the current courses rather than relying on it for hands-on practice.

5. Mastering SAP Fiori for S/4HANA 2026 — best for the UX layer

Fiori is the modern face of SAP, the tile-based interface that replaced the old gray screens, and Fiori skills are increasingly requested on S/4HANA projects. Verna Li’s course, now titled Mastering SAP Fiori Implementation for SAP S/4HANA 2026 (4.6 from 299 ratings, 8,783 students, 2 hours, updated January 2026), covers Fiori app implementation, launchpad configuration and Fiori’s role in a live S/4HANA landscape. The rating count is small, so weight it accordingly, but it is a current option for the UX and implementation side.

6. The Complete SAP Ariba Sourcing Masterclass 2026 — best for procurement

SAP Ariba is the procurement and sourcing arm of the SAP world, with its own job market. The course, now titled SAP Ariba Sourcing Masterclass 2026: RFPs, Auctions & Awards (4.6 from 667 ratings, 13,230 students, 3 hours, updated August 2026), covers sourcing events, supplier management and award decisions from a practitioner’s angle. If you work in purchasing or supply chain, Ariba is a smart niche. It pairs naturally with our supply chain courses guide.

Which SAP module should you learn?

“Learning SAP” almost always means learning one or two modules deeply. Picking the right one is the biggest decision you will make, because it shapes your job title and pay. The advice from experienced consultants on r/SAP is consistent: start with the module that matches the business area you already know. Here is the map, with the course we would start each module with.

7. SAP FICO (Finance & Controlling): SAP FICO S/4HANA Simplified For Beginners

FICO is the most in-demand functional module and the natural entry point if you have an accounting or finance background. SAP FICO S/4HANA Simplified For Beginners (4.5 from 12,187 ratings, 85,932 students, updated October 2026) covers FI and CO fundamentals, core processes and configuration in both ECC and S/4HANA. It is very long, at more than 100 hours of video, so treat it as a reference course you work through by topic.

8. SAP MM (Materials Management): SAP MM Training – in Plain English

MM covers procurement and inventory and pairs well with supply-chain roles. Siva Prasad’s SAP MM Training – in Plain English (4.4 from 16,752 ratings, 75,134 students, 27 hours, updated August 2026) is written for functional consultants and assumes no prior SAP knowledge.

9. SAP SD (Sales & Distribution): SAP SD Training – in Plain English

SD is order-to-cash: quotes, orders, deliveries and billing, a good fit for sales-operations and commercial backgrounds. The same instructor’s SAP SD Training – in Plain English (4.5 from 14,178 ratings, 61,675 students, 29 hours, updated June 2026) follows the same approach.

10. SAP ABAP (developer track): SAP ABAP on HANA Training for Beginners

ABAP is how you build and extend SAP rather than configure it. SAP ABAP on HANA Training for Beginners (4.5 from 7,272 ratings, 32,514 students, 15.5 hours, updated October 2026) teaches modern ABAP with CDS views, AMDP, RAP and BTP, and includes trial-system setup. The best-known older ABAP course on Udemy was last updated in 2016, so we point beginners here instead.

11. SAP SuccessFactors (HR): SAP SF Employee Central

Human-capital work in SAP has largely moved to the cloud-based SuccessFactors suite. SAP SF Employee Central: Full business process training (4.5 from 1,994 ratings, 2.5 hours) is a short introduction to the core HR module. It was last updated in December 2023, so use it for orientation rather than current configuration.

12. SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform): SAP BTP For Beginners

BTP is SAP’s cloud platform for extensions, integration and data. SAP BTP For Beginners (4.5 from 7,287 ratings, 32,539 students, 5 hours, updated October 2026) explains its tools and services, and it is a useful companion to the ABAP course.

13. SAP Analytics Cloud: The Complete SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Course 2026

For reporting, dashboards and planning, The Complete SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Course 2026 (4.6 from 6,437 ratings, 147,570 students, 4 hours, updated August 2026) covers SAC data models, dashboards, planning workflows and SAP’s Joule AI features. It suits analysts more than consultants; see also our business analytics courses guide.

The practical sequence for most people: a short orientation course, then S/4HANA basics, then depth in the one module that matches your background. A finance person who learns FICO well is far more employable than someone who knows a little of everything.

SAP certifications, explained

This trips up almost every beginner. A Udemy or Coursera course is not an official SAP certification. The courses on this page teach skills; an official SAP certification is a separate exam you book through SAP. SAP lists its current exams on learning.sap.com/certifications, with codes such as C_TS452 and C_TS422 and titles such as SAP Certified – SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, Sourcing and Procurement. Use a course to learn, then sit the SAP exam to get the credential employers search for. On r/SAP, practitioners put it bluntly: only official SAP certifications carry weight in hiring, and they are aimed at consultants and developers rather than everyday users.

14. SAP Learning Hub — the paid route to certification and practice systems

To sit an SAP certification exam you need exam attempts on your SAP account, which come with an SAP Learning Hub subscription. On 21 October 2026 SAP listed it at USD 1,452 per user per year, including four certification exam attempts a year and access to the training needed to keep certifications current. That is a real cost, so check whether your employer provides access before you buy it yourself, and use the Coursera certificate’s 25% exam discount if you qualify.

The Coursera Professional Certificate at the top of this list is a recognized credential in its own right because SAP built it, but it is not a substitute for a module-specific SAP exam when a job posting names one. Read listings in your target market first; they tell you which certification, if any, moves the needle.

Can you learn SAP for free?

Partly, and it is a sensible way to test the water before paying.

15. SAP Learning journeys — SAP’s free official training

learning.sap.com is SAP’s official learning site, with a large catalog of free learning journeys across S/4HANA, BTP, ABAP and the cloud products. You pay only when you book a certification exam. SAP’s older openSAP MOOC platform has been folded into SAP Learning (open.sap.com now redirects there), so free SAP courses you find on old lists now live on learning.sap.com.

The honest trade-off: free SAP resources are strong on theory but thin on guided, hands-on practice in a live system, and several r/SAP regulars make the same point: learning is hard without system access. That is where the paid Udemy courses (some include trial-system guides) and the Learning Hub earn their keep. Start free, confirm you like it, then buy one current paid course for the hands-on work.

Is learning SAP worth it in 2026?

For the right person, yes. SAP is entrenched in large enterprises, the kind of software a company spends years implementing and does not casually replace, so the skills have staying power, and the ongoing migration from ECC to S/4HANA keeps creating project work. SAP roles sit at the higher end of enterprise-IT and functional-consulting pay, though the actual figure depends heavily on your module, region and whether you bill as a consultant or work in an internal team.

The counterweight: SAP rewards depth and real project experience, not a single course. Experienced users on r/SAP describe still feeling like beginners two years in. A certificate gets you in the door; the well-paid roles go to people who have configured a module on a live system. Treat any course here as step one of a longer build.

How to choose the right SAP course

Three questions settle it.

Credential or skills? If you need something recognized on your resume, start with the Coursera Professional Certificate. If you need working knowledge fast and cheap, start with a current Udemy course.

How current is it? SAP’s interface moves. Check the “last updated” date: a 2026 S/4HANA course shows the screens you will actually use; a 2020 one does not.

Which module? Match it to your background: finance to FICO, procurement to MM or Ariba, sales operations to SD, coding to ABAP, HR to SuccessFactors, generalist consulting to the SAP Technology Consultant certificate.

Frequently asked questions

Which SAP course is best for beginners?

Start with a short orientation such as SAP for Beginners (2.5 hours), then take The Ultimate SAP S/4HANA Course 2026 for hands-on basics. If you want a credential, the SAP Technology Consultant Professional Certificate on Coursera is designed for people with no SAP experience.

Is SAP hard to learn?

The software is not conceptually hard, but it is broad and assumes you understand the business process underneath. Most people reach basic competence in one module within a few months of consistent study, and real fluency takes project experience.

Which SAP module is in demand?

FICO (finance) is the most in-demand functional module, followed by the logistics modules MM and SD. ABAP remains the main developer track, and cloud skills (BTP, SuccessFactors, Analytics Cloud) are growing as companies move to S/4HANA and SAP’s cloud products.

How much does an SAP course cost?

Udemy SAP courses are usually bought on sale; on 21 October 2026 Udemy’s site-wide sale started at $12.99.The Coursera certificate runs on a subscription ($59 a month or $399 a year). Official SAP certification requires exam attempts, which come with SAP Learning Hub (USD 1,452 per user per year).

Is SAP learning free?

Much of it is. SAP Learning (learning.sap.com) offers free learning journeys, and openSAP’s free courses have moved there. Booking a certification exam and getting practice-system access are the parts you pay for.

Is SAP certification worth it?

For a first SAP role, a recognized credential plus a clearly chosen module is the strongest combination, and practitioners say official SAP certifications are the ones hiring managers take seriously. Read target job postings to see whether a specific certification is expected.

Are these courses official SAP training?

The Coursera Professional Certificate is built by SAP, and SAP Learning is SAP’s own site. The Udemy courses are independent training that teaches SAP skills but is not an official SAP exam or certification.
