Confused by course pricing? You're not alone — every platform prices differently (subscriptions, per-certificate, one-off purchases). This page is our index of full pricing breakdowns for the major platforms, each kept current on its own page so the numbers don't go stale.

The first thing to understand about course pricing is the model: a subscription is cheapest if you'll take several courses a year, while a one-off purchase wins for a single skill. Below, jump to the platform you're weighing — each breakdown covers every tier, the real annual-vs-monthly math, and whether it's worth it.
| Platform | Pricing model | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Coursera | Subscription (Coursera Plus) or per-certificate | Full breakdown → |
| DataCamp | Subscription (annual or monthly), per user | Full breakdown → |
| MasterClass | Annual subscription (Standard / Plus / Premium) | Full breakdown → |
| Pluralsight | Subscription (Core Tech / Complete) | Full breakdown → |
| CFI | Annual subscription (Self-Study / Full-Immersion) | Full breakdown → |

Subscriptions (Coursera Plus, DataCamp, MasterClass, Pluralsight, CFI) make sense when you'll complete several courses or certificates in a year — the per-course cost drops fast. The trap is paying monthly and not finishing; if you commit, annual billing is almost always cheaper. One-off purchases (Udemy's model) are better for a single, specific skill, especially during one of the platform's frequent sales. Whatever you're considering, run the break-even: divide the annual price by how many courses you'll realistically finish.

Is a subscription or per-course cheaper?
A subscription is cheaper once you complete more than a few courses a year; a per-course purchase is cheaper for a single skill. Estimate how many courses you'll actually finish in 12 months and divide the annual price by that number to compare.
Are annual plans worth it over monthly?
If you're committed for more than a couple of months, yes — annual billing is typically a large discount over month-to-month. Only pay monthly if you genuinely expect to finish quickly and cancel.

Most platforms run serious discounts a few times a year. I send a heads-up when deals drop, plus my Tuesday picks email.
